Foleo Pty Ltd (Foleo, we, us) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and protect your personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

We collect personal information you provide directly when you complete the matching questionnaire, contact us, subscribe to the newsletter, or apply to be a verified partner agent. Typical information includes your name, email address, phone number, location, budget range, investment goals and timeline. If you create an account we also store your hashed password and account preferences.

We collect limited technical information automatically when you visit the site, including IP address, browser type, device type and pages visited. With your consent we may also collect analytics and marketing cookies, see cookies below.

How we use it

We use your information to operate the matching service, generate your shortlist, introduce you to the agents you select, communicate with you about your enquiries and account, send the newsletter if you have subscribed, comply with legal obligations, and improve the service.

Who we share it with

When you accept an introduction to a matched buyer's agent, we share your contact details and stated requirements with that agent so they can respond. We share information with service providers who help operate the site (such as hosting, email and analytics providers) under confidentiality and data-processing terms. We will never sell your personal information.

Referral fees

Foleo earns a referral fee from agents we introduce you to. This does not affect the rate the agent charges you. The fee is paid by the agent, not by you, and applies only when an introduction leads to a paid engagement.

Cookies

We use a small number of essential cookies required for the site to function. With your consent (collected via the cookie banner) we also use analytics cookies to understand site usage and, optionally, marketing cookies. You can change your preferences at any time by clearing the consent cookie or contacting us.

How long we keep it

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide the service and to meet our legal obligations, typically up to seven years after our last interaction with you. Cookie preferences and account records are kept for the lifetime of your account, unless deleted earlier on request.

Your rights

You can request access to the personal information we hold about you, request a correction, ask us to delete it, or withdraw consent for non-essential processing. Email privacy@foleo.au with your request and we will respond within 30 days.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Security

We use industry-standard technical and organisational safeguards to protect personal information from unauthorised access, loss or disclosure. No system is perfectly secure, so we encourage you to use a strong, unique password and to notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.

Changes to this policy

We review this policy at least annually. Material changes will be communicated via the site and, where appropriate, by email to registered users. The version date above reflects the most recent update.
